We are seeking a Groundsman to join our award-winning team at Stobo Castle Health Spa – a family-run destination spa nestled in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside.

Start Date: from 1st January 2026
Hours: Part-time, 3 days a week with occasional weekend or early morning winter work as required.

About the Role

To maintain and care for the grounds, gardens, outdoor areas, and associated facilities to ensure they are safe, clean, and presentable at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, leaf blowing, and weeding
Maintain lawns, paths, car parks, and landscaped areas to a high standard
Assist with planting, pruning, and seasonal grounds care (eg. gritting in winter)
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools safely and efficiently
Ensure correct use of machinery, PPE, and adherence to health and safety procedures
Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to fences, gates, signs, and outdoor fixtures
Support site projects as required (eg. moving equipment, preparing outdoor spaces)
Report any hazards, damage, or maintenance issues promptly
Keep work areas tidy and ensure waste is disposed of correctly

Skills and Requirements

Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role preferred
Knowledge of grounds care equipment
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Good attention to detail and pride in work quality
Basic understanding of health and safety practices
Full UK driving licence
