Friday 20th March 2020
It is with huge regret and sadness that we, as a family, have to make this announcement.
Following Government guidelines and advice issued by the Prime Minister this afternoon, we have made the decision to temporarily close Stobo Castle Health Spa, following lunch service tomorrow, Saturday 21st March, until further notice.
For those of you who have a reservation during the next few months, please be assured that any deposits paid will be held for a future visit or refunded if you wish. Gift vouchers with an imminent expiry date will be extended at no additional cost and Spa Club members’ Direct Debits will be suspended.
If you have any questions, we kindly ask that you email our Reservations team at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
We, as a family, would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support and we hope it won’t be too long before we can once again open our doors and warmly welcome guests and members, both new and old, to Stobo Castle.
We also pay gratitude to the team at Stobo who have worked tirelessly to continue to provide impeccable service and maintain the highest standard of hygiene since the outbreak of this virus.
In closing, please do everything you can to stay safe and look after each other during these challenging times. We will get through this together.
With best wishes,
Stephen, Mandy, Elliott, Mitchell and Taylor Winyard

Stobo Castle continues to be open for business
We would like to put a positive and reassuring message out to all of our guests – past, present and future – regarding where we are at this time of uncertainty across the UK.
Stobo Castle Health Spa will remain open to guests and members and we will continue to operate as normal. That being said, and as previously mentioned in our previous update, the health and wellbeing of all of our guests, members and employees is absolutely paramount to us. We are doing our upmost to ensure that Stobo Castle remains a safe place for guests to join us and for our employees to work. We have introduced a number of measures to maintain the most meticulous hygiene standards throughout the Castle and Spa, but crucially, this will only be able to be sustained with the cooperation from everyone who arrives and departs Stobo Castle.
These measures include:
– Our staff are continually re-filling soap dispensers in all bathrooms and public areas, ensuring door handles, push plates, and banisters are thoroughly cleaned.
– Guests ensuring they wash their hands immediately when entering both our Main Reception and Spa Reception from outside.
– Guests ensuring they wash their hands prior to entering our Dining Rooms before breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
– Single-use menus within our Dining Rooms which are disposed of after use.
– The use of paper napkins in our Dining Rooms and we ask all guests to dispose of these themselves in the bins provided, to prevent our staff from coming into contact with these napkins.
– Each Spa Therapist has their own dedicated treatment room to use and sanitise throughout their working day.
– We have removed all newspapers/magazines from our Drawing Room, however, if you are a residential guest, we can order these in for you for the following day.
– Immediate cleaning of card terminals before and after use by guests.
– Staff, with permission, will sign registration cards on arrival for all guests.
– Urging all guests to provide payment by card, opposed to cash.
If you have a new, continuous cough, high temperature or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19, or have been advised to self-isolate, please do not travel to Stobo Castle. Contact our reservations team by email – email@example.com – or on 01721 725300.
We will, of course, monitor this situation as it changes day by day and continue to provide updates here with any significant developments.
We would like to thank everyone who has visited Stobo Castle for their cooperation so far, and say how immensely proud we are of our team here who have supported each other throughout this difficult and unprecedented time.
We look forward to welcoming and looking after all of our guests in the future, as we have for over 40 years as a family business.
With best wishes,
Elliott, Stephen, Mandy, Mitchell and Taylor Winyard.
