The Fitness Team at Stobo Castle pride themselves on offering a comprehensive Fitness Schedule, from 9am - 6pm, seven days a week.

The classes on offer range from our mind/body classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Dance of the Dragon and Spirals, which will help to de-stress, relax and unwind; to our more energetic classes such as Spinning, Kettlebells and Cardio Combat, all of which will ensure you get a great workout!

If there is a specific class you would like, why not phone the Fitness team and make a request! We will endeavour to accommodate your request.

To take advantage of our fantastic location, we offer two walks daily which will help you enjoy the wonderful scenery and the lovely fresh air. The Stobo Walk (typically at 12 noon) is a brisk 3 mile, cross country walk that is sure to get you ready for your lunch, and our Light Walk (typically at 2pm) is a gentle stroll around the Japanese Water Gardens (owned by the Seymour Family) and also the grounds of the Castle.

Please note that the Fitness Schedule is subject to change and we strongly advise that guests check the Fitness Schedule prior to arriving and on the Spa Courtyard notice board upon day of arrival.  All classes are on a first come, first served basis except classes marked with an asterisk *, which indicates that booking is required. The booking sheet will be on the notice board. Levels of Ability

To make your class selection a little easier, we have colour coded our classes into ability levels.

Please check the Notice Board in the Spa Courtyard for levels of classes during your stay.

Beginners: Come and try - no experience necessary. 

Mixed Ability: Suitable for all levels. Go at your own pace.

Intermediate: For those who exercise regularly.

Advanced: For experienced exercisers with a good level of fitness. Not suitable for those with limited mobility or carrying an injury.

*Means the class needs to be booked. Please let your instructor know if you have any injuries/recent surgeries/conditions/illnesses that may affect your class participation, and also if you are pregnant.

What to Bring

Mind Body Classes - Yoga, Pilates, Dance of the Dragon, Spirals etc

Loose fitting and comfortable clothing, classes will be done in either bare feet or socks. We recommend that you bring a warm top layer for any relaxation sessions

All Gym Workouts

Appropriate gym gear and trainers. Please note that all gym users must have trainers to use the equipment

Aerobic Classes - CardioSculpt, Spinning, Cardio Combat, Boxercise, Studio Pump, all Dance Classes etc

Loose fitting and comfortable gym gear. Trainers will required for all cardio classes.

Walks

       - Stobo Walk - hiking boots and a waterproof jacket.  Please note that the walks can be very muddy. 
       - Light Walk - hiking boots or trainers and a waterproof jacket
